The New England Patriots’ victory over the Seattle Seahawks was the most popular Super Bowl showdown ever on Facebook and Twitter. More than 65 million people contributed to 265 million posts, comments and likes on Facebook, the social network revealed Monday. In second was Katy Perry’s performance of Firework to close out the Super Bowl halftime show (1.02 million people per minute), followed by quarterback Russell Wilson’s touchdown pass to Doug Baldwin to extend the Seahawks lead to 24-14 in the third quarter.

More than 28.4 million global tweets were sent on Twitter with information related to the Super Bowl and the halftime show. Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler’s interception to secure the victory generated the most tweets per minute (395,000), followed by the end of the game and the halftime show featuring Katy Perry.

Speaking of the halftime show, the performance generated a bump in streams for Perry as well as Lenny Kravitz and surprise guest Missy Elliott. Streaming music service Spotify says streams of Missy Elliott songs surged 676% after she performed at halftime. Lenny Kravitz streams doubled, while Katy Perry streams jumped 85%. On iTunes, three of Missy Elliott songs are in the top 20: Work It (#4), Get Ur Freak On (#6) and Lose Control (#12).
